Barely a week ago, fans were drooling over how great the visuals in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 looked, specifically with regard to footage taken from the game's Amsterdam level. Of course, as with all things Call of Duty, the calm and beautiful scene was immediately followed by gunfire, weird nicknames, and a bunch of dudes staying frosty. Though it seems Amsterdam, in turn, didn't take too kindly to the game, one five-star hotel in particular. The Conservatorium Hotel – renamed Breenbergh in-game – is one of many flashpoint locations in Modern Warfare 2. Not only that, but on top of being riddled with bullets, the hotel is also blown up, with smoke billowing from its facade. To make things worse, it seems nobody at Infinity Ward asked the actual hotel for permission to use its likeness. It now appears that the hotel is considering its options, and legal action is very much on the table (thanks, PC Gamer). RELATED: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Doesn’t Know What To Do With Its Realistic Graphics "We have taken note of the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is undesirably the scene of the new Call of Duty," said the hotel's manager, Roy Tomassen in a conversation with Dutch publication, de Volksrant. "More generally, we don't support games that seem to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our apparent and unwanted involvement." The Breenbergh is a major location in both the campaign and multiplayer modes of Modern Warfare 2. Its real life counterpart, the Conservatorium Hotel, is a relatively popular landmark in Amsterdam, which was initially a bank built in the 1800s that was later converted into a five-star hotel. While the manager didn't explicitly mention any legal action, his words surely suggested that it's not off the table. After that short clip of a very-realistic Amsterdam became popular, one fan actually went to the exact spots from the game to reveal just how similar they look. And wouldn't you know it, there's hardly any difference between the real city and the in-game one. People even started sharing images and videos they had of the city to further study the similarities.
