省流，曼恩的名字取自缅因州。他曾经在新美国的特别行动队服役，跟所罗门·李德是战友。曼恩组建自己的团队时第一个招的是多利欧，但是他们两个认识的过程很抽象，当时多利欧好几天都在跟踪一个动物帮的人，而曼恩那几天又在尾随多利欧，多利欧杀动物帮的时候失手了，曼恩杀了那个动物帮救下多利欧，然后曼恩发出组队邀请，多利欧同意了。

传记

早期生活

     曼恩是一名女爵士歌手的儿子，他妈妈四处旅行并在酒吧和休息室工作，希望某个星探能够发现她。当她到缅因州波特兰市时，她发现自己怀孕了。她发誓要忘掉所有的前情人，因此她对谁是曼恩的父亲毫无头绪。她唯一确信的是她喜欢波特兰市并且缅因州一直对她很好。于是，她决定在此安顿。她在之后的十年中边当服务员打工，边抚养她那以缅因州州名名命名的儿子。

     在他孩童时期，曼恩是一个体弱多病的小男孩，所以他总是被揍。因此他下定决心要比周围的人更高大，更强壮。随着时间推移，曼恩开始实现他的目标并开始参加地下拳击比赛。在他拿到第一笔胜利奖金后，他有足够的钱去买他第一个义体；装在他右手的钛合金掌骨和指骨，这会让他更容易一拳击倒他的对手。有了这些改善，曼恩完成了他的目标。

Early Life

     Maine was the son of a jazz singer woman who travelled around working in bars and lounges with the hopes that some talent scout would find her. One time while in the Mainer city of Portland, she found out she was pregnant. She had vowed to forget all of her ex-lovers, so she had no clue on who the father was. The only thing she was certain is that she liked Portland and the state of Maine had been good to her. With that, she decided to settle down. She worked as a waitress for around ten years, while also raising her son, whom she named after the state they were living in.

     During his childhood, Maine was a small, sickly and frail kid, so he got beaten up often. Because of that, he promised to himself he would get much bigger and stronger than anyone around him. Over time, Maine began to achieve his objective and started fighting in underground boxing matches. After his first prize win, he got enough money to buy his first cyberware; titanium metacarpals and phalanges in his right hand so that it would be easier to knock his opponents out in a single punch. With those improvements, Maine accomplished his objective.

NUSA Military

     After the passing of his mother, Maine started working as a bouncer in clubs, but could not keep his job for long because he would beat up the troublemakers. One night, he beat up a group of five big guys that shared the same haircut. When the club found out those guys were NUSA SpecOps, Maine was fired without a second thought. The following day, Maine got a call with a job offer from the NUSA SpecOps. Knowing he could beat others and get paid for it convinced him to join them.

     Maine was deployed in South America alongside a unit of SpecOps, which included Solomon Reed whom he would befriend. Soon after, though, Maine's bravado was gone. For two years he witnessed the burning of many villages and after not finding the meaning to do something like that, he decided he had enough and took his discharge, returning to the NUSA.

     Around 2069, one of his former unit pals, Solomon Reed, contacted Maine and offered a different kind of job. This time, he would join Reed in the construction of a network of FIA spies in Night City in order to support the NUS effort in the Unification War. Maine turned Solomon's offer down, but acknowledged that Night City was a place of opportunity; a place where he could choose his own line of work. As such, Maine decided to become an edgerunner and journeyed to Night City to form his own crew.

Life in Night City

     While trying to build his own crew in Night City, Maine's interest was picked up by a woman named Dorio Gunnarsdóttir. He followed her for several days as she stalked a gangoon, and saved her life after she failed to kill him, recruiting her to his crew. He also befriended Falco when he first arrived in Night City, with both working together on occasions, though the nomad never joined his crew.

     Over the following years, Maine recruited more people, including Pilar and his sister Rebecca, and netrunners Sasha Yakovleva and Kiwi. As a veteran edgerunner in Night City, Maine dreamed of "making it big," although he valued his friendship with his crew more than his glory. At some point, Maine was drinking in the Afterlife alongside Dorio, Rebecca and Sasha before he and Sasha left for a gig from which only Maine returned.

     One day, Kiwi brought in a netrunner known as Lucy Kushinada, which Maine promptly recruited into the crew.

Legacy

     Despite Maine's descent into cyberpyschosis, he would be the inspiration behind how David would live out the rest of his life, trying to embody both Maine's cyberware physique as well as all his values.

     Lucy wrote "You were the only family I ever had" on Maine, Dorio and Pilar's shared niche in the North Oak Columbarium.

1. The first time he is mentioned is in Episode 1, when Gloria Martinez calls him from her apartment. It is not revealed to the audience, what their conversation is about or who Maine is. He doesn't appear in the show until the very end of Episode 2, where he meets David Martinez in Lucy's apartment, and demands David's Sandevistan from him.
