Square Enix 對《最終幻想7：重生》銷量並不完全滿意

據Famitsu發佈的數據顯示，截至2024年3月，《最終幻想7 重生》在日本地區（統計時間爲2月25日至3月31日）銷量居首，共售出310,596份。儘管這一數字引人關注，但相較於僅在首發周便在日本售出336,027份的《最終幻想16》，其銷量明顯偏低。

How much did Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PlayStation 5 sell? In recent days there has been a lot of discussion about the fact that the game may not have reached the sales objectives set by the publisher, but is this really the case? According to data released by Famitsu, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was the best-selling game in Japan as of March 2024 (in the period from 25 February to 31 March) with 310,596 copies distributed in the country of the Rising Sun. This number, although interesting, is much lower than the 336,027 copies distributed in Japan by Final Fantasy 16 in the launch week alone. The Square Enix game beat the competition by selling about three times as much as Princess Peach Showtime! (104,820 copies sold as of March 21) and Rise of the Ronin, stuck at 87,785 copies sold in Japan (as of March 21). But these numbers actually indicate little because Square Enix has not released other data related to sales in the West. According to a theoretical and empirical calculation based on PSN access data, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth should have sold around two million copies to date, just over a month after launch. Interesting numbers? Yes, but even in this case lower than the 3.5 million copies sold by Final Fantasy 16 in a week, numbers which in themselves do not seem to have completely satisfied Square Enix, according to what is rumoured. We don't know what the publisher's expectations were for Rebirth and the game could therefore have achieved its sales objectives: the feeling of many is that the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project could have done more on a commercial level, despite the limitations of the PS5 software market, a problem that is giving headaches to many publishers and also to Sony itself.
